Katherina Bach is a Colombian-German author, illustrator, sustainability expert, and creator of Mr. Pollsmor and the Five Kingdoms—an original edutainment universe where science, nature, technology, imagination, and universal values come together.

Her work is shaped by more than two decades of international experience in climate change, sustainability, the Blue Economy, education, and nature-inspired innovation. She has worked across countries and cultures, contributed to international environmental initiatives, and co-published more than 300 educational books in Asia, bringing science and sustainability to children on a large scale.

Inspired by her professional journey, her travels, and her experience as a mother of three, Katherina created Pollsmor to help children reconnect with nature and rediscover their innate biophilia—the natural human tendency to feel connected to the living world.

Through storytelling, humour, adventure, music, and science, she invites children to explore the Five Kingdoms of Life and understand nature as an intelligent, interconnected system. Her vision is to encourage young people to use technology not as a substitute for nature, but as a creative tool for developing inventions and solutions inspired by the natural world—helping to shape the future we truly need.

Universal values are at the heart of her work. Courage, kindness, empathy, resilience, curiosity, responsibility, cooperation, leadership, and hope are woven into every story, helping children grow not only in knowledge, but also in character.
